To start with Privatenote, you’ll first need to create an account. Go to the Privatenote website and click the “Sign Up” button. A username and password will be required. Once you’ve made your account, you’ll be taken to your secure dashboard to compose messages.
Composing a message
The message composition process is straightforward. Click the “Compose” button to take you to a new message window. Here, you’ll see fields for the recipient’s username, the message subject, and the content itself. In the “Recipient” field, enter the username of the person to whom you wish to send the self-destructing message. If you don’t know their username, you ask them to provide it to you securely through another channel.
Next, add a subject line for your message. This is a summary or indication of the message content, helping the recipient understand the context before they open it. Now, for the important part of composing your message. Write the content you want to send securely in the main text box. This could be text, images, or even documents. Remember, the message will self-destruct, so include all the necessary information.
Setting self-destruct options
This is where Privatenote offers you flexibility and control. Below the message content box, you’ll see the self-destruct options. Here, you choose how long the message will remain visible after the recipient opens it. You set the message to self-destruct after a certain number of seconds, minutes, hours, or even days. For example, you might set a message to self-destruct after 30 seconds, giving the recipient enough time to read and understand the content before it disappears. Additionally, you can set the number of views. This means you limit the message to self-destruct after a certain number of views, ensuring that only the intended recipient accesses it.
Sending the message
Once you’ve composed your message and set the self-destruct options, it’s time to send it securely. But what happens now? How does the recipient access the message? A message is sent to the recipient when you send a message through Privatenote. They must log in to their Privatenote account to view the message. Once they open the message, they will see the content for the specified time duration you set. After that, the message will self-destruct, leaving no trace.
Viewing message status
As the sender, you also keep track of the messages you’ve sent. In your privnote dashboard, you’ll be able to see the status of each message. This includes information such as whether the message has been delivered, viewed, or destroyed. This helps you ensure that the intended recipient receives and reads your messages.
Privatenote offers a secure and private way to exchange self-destructing messages online.
